Ever opened a collaboration project and thought, “Why do all my instruments sound out of tune?” 🎹😅
That happened to me while working on a new track. After checking my sounds, I realised my collaborator had recorded their parts using A = 432Hz, rather than the standard A = 440Hz tuning.
To bring my virtual instruments into tune with the existing recording, I used two different approaches:
🎛️ For the bass, I changed the master tuning to 432Hz using Omnisphere’s built-in Pitch Options.
🎚️ For the Diva lead, I used Auto-Tune’s Detune control and set it to 432Hz.
Once both instruments were retuned, everything sat together properly again. A useful reminder to always check the tuning reference when exchanging tracks with collaborators!
Have you ever received a collaboration recorded in 432Hz—or another alternative tuning?
